We can be surprisingly reluctant to display our own work.

We notice the slightly uneven stitch or the corner that didn't quite behave itself, while somebody else sees something beautiful that we made with our own hands.

Your craft space is the perfect place to celebrate those pieces.

Frame a small piece of embroidery. Hang some handmade bunting. Display a knitted or crocheted piece. Put your favourite handmade cushion on your chair.

It doesn't have to be your most technically accomplished project.

Sometimes the pieces that mean the most are the ones that remind us how far we've come.

When you start making garments, you may decide a good tape measure and blocking equipment are worth having.

Buy things because you need them, rather than because a list somewhere says every knitter should own them.
